On an average year, our lake at Aspen Lodge Resort & Spa is good for ice skating until the middle of March. With two acres of ice, there is plenty of room for everyone. For those of you interested in team sports, how about an invigorating game of hockey? Compete against your friends and family in a surreal Rocky Mountain atmosphere. Be sure to mark it down as one of the things to do in Estes Park. The hockey nets are up and we have all of the equipment for full hockey games.

On arrival please visit the recreation center nearby, where there are skate and equipment rentals. We have equipment for all you activity needs, which include snowshoes, cross-country skis, hockey sticks, hockey pucks and towels.  If you have broomball brooms, there is also a ball for use with a returnable deposit.

Dress for the weather! Some suggestions include wearing warm clothes, thick socks and gloves. Socks for the skates usually work best with at least one thin layer of wool, or two thin layers for insulation and proper fit. Extra clothes would be handy for changing in the event they get wet from the ice or snow. There is a dock with benches for your relaxation and to change into your skates.
