Whats New?

Our livery is now open year round!  That means we’ll be offering horseback rides and horse drawn rides seven days a week.  We also have a new celebrity on staff.  Franklin is one of our trail riding horses, who has been in movies such as Cowboy’s and Aliens, and most recently, Johnny Depp’s The Lone Ranger Stop by the stables to say hello and take a very special ride through majestic Rocky Mountain National Park.

As of Memorial Day, we have launched a new menu at our restaurant, Simplicity.  Come and try some of Chef Will’s own homemade creations and family style traditions, such as his Beef Willington and Pasta a la Ivo.

Come down every Sunday to our Lodge for a morning lecture at 8:30 am, followed by Tai Chi at 9:00 am.  You can also join us for brunch from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm to enjoy a variety of foods, which can accommodate a variety of specialty diets.

On Sunday June 18, we’re putting together a fabulous Father’s Day brunch – bring all deserving Dads down to celebrate their day!

Our Kitchen to Yours

Employee Spotlight: Wranglers

We have some new faces around the barn: Josh Lucero, Angelina and Brian McCarthy.  Josh Lucero moved from Cuba, New Mexico just last month to lead rides at the Aspen Lodge.  “I have a special bond with horses.  Horses bring joy and happiness to my life.  I would love to get the chance to show you how a horse can bring joy and happiness to your world too.”

Angelina is native to Estes Park and is a Senior at CSU majoring in Archeology.  She has been a wrangler for almost seven years, and enjoys art and animation in her free time.  “As I spend more time at Aspen Lodge, I hope to experience more of the Colorado wild, and continue learning more about the horses I love.”

Brian is from Denver and a resident here at Aspen Lodge.  He is happy to be doing what he loves, living in the mountains and riding horses.  “I believe horses have the ability to reveal life’s true nature, love and respect, understanding and joy.  I hope to share this idea with others who come out for aoneof-a-kind ride in the mountains.”

We are fortunate to have such a wonderful group of wranglers leading our rides through our back property and the parks.  Come out and experience a ride you won’t forget, or feel free to just pay a visit to the horses and have a chat with our wranglers.  They are very knowledgeable and willing to share their years of experience.

Simple Wisdom

Are you enjoying yourself in life? Nature is our Master for guiding us how to let go of stress and emotions. Retreat into nature…hear the voices of the animals, the flowers and the trees – most importantly listen and hear your voice from within. Walk and feel the air surrounding you; talk to nature about your feelings and soon you will find joy and relaxation – you will be refreshed and re-energized. We all come to this Earth to find joy and celebrate life. All we need is to continue feeling alive everyday by giving gratitude to Mother Nature and ourselves. As I like to say, “We are all growing into heaven”.
